This is the first show I can remember sitting down with my family to watch every week. It was kind of for kids but adults could really enjoy it as well. I was really disappointed it didn't last longer, though with the time-distortion of my kid brain I would have sworn it went for at least 2 seasons.

One of the creators of this show made another quirky one-season show a few years later called Strange Luck, which was also one of my family's favorites. I think it aired before or after the X-Files. That one really seems to have been lost to time, though. I don't think it's ever shown up on any streaming services or anything.

You recently mentioned a couple TV shows you liked, Brimstone and [I can't remember the name]. What was the second one? Also, what're some other shows that you'd recommend, and why?

American Gothic. From 1995. It was only on for a season like Brimstone, but it was so good and disturbing. It’s about Lucifer and his son… kind of.

My favorite horror shows from around that time are Twin Peaks, Brimstone, Eerie Indiana, Tales from the Crypt, Friday the 13th (the Canadian series), Forever Knight, Millennium, Strange Luck, and Buffy to some degree.

I don’t think horror television is very good now. Hannibal was a beautiful art project and probably the last best.

I actually didn't watch Eerie when it was on TV. I picked up the DVD's when I saw them in the store because I'd heard Eerie was made by Karl Schaeffer, the same guy who made Strange Luck (which is my absolute favorite television show). I figured Eerie would be a show worth watching. Boy was I right, forget being the smartest kids shows ever, it might just be on of the top 5 smartest show period.
I'm almost upset that I didn't watch it when I was young, I had no idea what I was missing.
Thank goodness for the wonder of DVD.
