i just rewatched the goosebumps tv show and then watched creeped out. is there any other children's horror out there like either of those? i think i liked goosebumps more but that might be the nostalgia.
— Rhyset (@rhyset_) January 15, 2020
I recommend Eerie Indiana a lot! It's got the same vibes as goosebumps but instead of an anthology series it has the same characters each episode
— Careful: I Bite đș (@Skunk_Tooth) January 15, 2020
this looks EXCELLENT thank you for the recommendation!
— Rhyset (@rhyset_) January 15, 2020
No prob! I'm big into these kinda shows too aha. I thought I had some more but I can't remember them off the top of my head so I'll let you know if I think of any more!

Have you watched Creeped Out on Netflix yet? Season 2 just dropped and I still love it. It's definitely a Goosebumps / Are You Afraid of the Dark type show and it's on all the right levels.

No sex, nudity or slasher stuff. To me horror is paranormal or preternatural fantasy.
Friday the 13th series, Monsters, Nightmare Cafe, Poltergiest the Legacy, Spooksville, AreYou Afraid ofthe Dark?, Goosebumps, Eerie Indiana, Deadtime Stories

Thereâs one on Netflix called Creeped Out. I watched it with the kids. It kinda has the feel of a kidâs Black Mirror, but reminds me a lot of the old Goosebumps episodes.
— Quotation Marks is GISHing (@QuotationMarkBB) July 13, 2019
That sounds fun! I kind of want to go back and binge all these shows from the 90s, though, now that I'm thinking about them, haha.

Was on the hunt for some weird 90's nostalgia (it turned out to be an episode of Eerie, Indiana), and ended up browsing the IMDB pages of the Goosebumps TV series and Are You Afraid of the Dark.
— Daddy Doggo đ»đĄ (@HarleighDog) July 13, 2019
Do they make anything like these shows for kids now? "Scary," but PG rated at most?

There's a cartoon either Netflix or Prime called The Hollow, Prime has a live-action series called Gortimer Gibson's Life on Normal Street which is Eerie if it has been given a chance to do proper character arcs and season-long plots, and Disney has Gravity Falls

Twitter hive mind, looking for suggestions for a new TV show to watching with my 13 year old daughter. She likes horror & sci fi. Moderate violence is okay. Any suggestions? PS, we are currently watching season 1 of a show called VAN HELSING.
— Andrew Nette (@Pulpcurry) July 9, 2019
We are ploughing our way through SUPERNATURAL but want something to break it up. TWILIGHT ZONE would be good but B&W, so I would have to drag her kicking & screaming to it...
— Andrew Nette (@Pulpcurry) July 9, 2019
Show her 'A Stopover in a Quiet Town' it may hook her. Or Eerie, Indiana is a good show for that age range. or Creeped Out on Netflix it's like a kid's black mirror/twilight zone

The best part of October? Streaming services go total ham sandwich on horror. Itâs like having someone deliver fifty horror movies to your door. Only better, because you donât have to deal with the whole âsocial interactionâ or âleaving the couchâ thing.
Hereâs whatâs in the bag! I promise, itâs not a severed headâŠ..
Creeped Out â Netflix Original
Bonus! Hereâs one you can watch with the kids. Creeped Out! is an anthology horror show in which all its stories are intertwined by a masked man collecting the dark secrets of mankind. (No, it isnât about your Ex.) Sounds a lot like Eerie, Indiana and who the shit doesnât love Eerie, Indiana?

âOh! The candy-striper vampire one in Are You Afraid Of The Dark? And the clown, The Ghastly Grinner!â
âThe magician one in Amazing Stories. Definitely.â
âThereâs one about a pool and this horrible, fleshy skeleton came out of it and grabbed these kids. Still now, if you Google it, itâs one of the most horrifying things Iâve ever seen, I canât believe it was ever on telly.â
âThe Never-Ending Story had something called The Nothing, that was really nothing, literally and figuratively. It stuck with me and freaked me out as a kid, the idea that things were disappearing and nothing was in its place.â
Bede Blake and Robert Butler, the writer-creators of new CBBC half-hour anthology series Creeped Out, are swapping memories of TV and film that left an indelible mark on them as children. âProbably for good reason, kids donât get that stuff anymore but sort of not, actually,â says Bede.

Watch the series preview here:
And read Den of Geek UK's write-up of it here:
Starting next week on CBBC, Creeped Out is a brilliantly chilling new anthology series you won't want to miss...
CBBC has an absolute treat in store for geeks of all ages. Starting next week on Halloween, Creeped Out is a thirteen-episode anthology of original eerie stories. Prepare to meet sinister puppets, 'harmless' old ladies, technology that takes a hold on your life, mysterious basement portals, and more.
Creeped Out was created by Bede Blake and Robert Butler for CBBC and DHX in Canada. Their plan was to make an Amazing Stories for young audiences today, with all the memorable storytelling, imagery and characters of The Twilight Zone. To judge by the episodes we've seen: job very much done.
