Dash X! Who I am never getting over, apparently. I was younger than the characters when I first saw Eerie, and I grew up with them, well if I’d ever grown up.

favorite thing about them
Dash has such style. I know he’s largely going for the ‘homeless amnesiac petty criminal’ look, but the hair, the coat, the boots, the tattoos - he was emo before it was even a thing. Also, he’s such a snarky little bitch. I want the novel, the movie, and 12 more series :( I like Eerie as a show, but the truth is I wouldn’t remember it had Dash not shown up. I have a thing for him as a Ferrengi on DS9 too.

least favorite thing about them
That we only have a few eps! Wtf! Yes I’m bitter. But the last ep is still fucking amazing, so I take some comfort in that. Would they have had the guts to demolish the forth wall had the show not been cancelled? I dunno. It long predated Supernatural doing it. Also: Dash, Castiel, various vampires, I have a thing for the queer swishing of dramatically long coats…

Any where Dash calls Mars ‘Slick.’ I have a thing for nicknames.

Dash’s one friend, Simon. Though, I read a great Dash/Simon series and imprinted like a gosling. They were very aged up.

Dash/Mars! Ah the unresolved sexual tension and misattribution of arousal… Sure, Dash tried to kill Mars, but that only encourages me… Also, the last ep, Reality Takes A Holiday, it’s so slashy, so very very slashy… When Dash has Marshal on the ground, with Dash straddling him, and holding down his wrists… Also, no one asked, but I like top Dash best… They’re usually written considerably older in fic too…

random headcanon
Dash’s origin is alien: he’s either an ancient being, or sprung into existence in eerie… Also, Mars never escapes Eerie… Also, Mars and Dash, one way or another, spend the rest of their weird and tumultuous lives together…

unpopular opinion
I just don’t care about any of the girls who showed up and dated Mars for one ep. I maybe should, but I don’t. I’m a tad interested when the girls date each other in fanfic. And I’ll read Dash, Mars, or possibly Simon, slashed with anyone. With some shows I watch for female characters (and I wish I could watch some for nonbinary characters), but in Eerie, I’m there for Dash. I don’t do het, so all those eps are a blur.

I was gonna say Tainted Love by Soft Cell, but I just looked up the biggest hits of ‘92, and saw To Be With You by Mr Big, big-haired rock ‘classic’… And now I’m picturing Dash with his shit-eating smirk, standing under Marshall’s bedroom window, holding a ghetto blaster over his head, playing To Be With You in the middle of the night. And Marshall opens the window and yells, ‘I never shoulda let you watch Say Anything!’

Also, Creep, by Radiohead. By coincidence, it also came out in ‘92. Dash heard it on the radio at the World O’ Stuff. He stole a cassette with it on, and a tape player, then spent endless hours in the old haunted mill where he squatted, listening to it over and over. Thinking about what a fuck up he was. And how perfect Marshall and his life were. And how much he wanted both. Till the tape snapped.

Though I just realised it means songs associated with Dash not with my OTP (Dars? Mash?)… So Arctic Monkeys covering You Know I’m No Good, And Desperado by The Eagles…
